I bought this mattress protector for my brand new Tempur-pedic mattress to protect it from stains and keep it clean. We received the mattress first and while waiting for the protector to arrive, I purchased a cheap one from another site to get us through for a few days. Let me say there is a clear difference between the cheaper one and this one. Cheaper one felt plastic-y on the underside, had a chemical smell out of the package, and was a tight fit on the mattress which prevented it from being as supportive as possible because the foam couldn't move properly. The Tempur-protect mattress protector was another level altogether - no odor, no plastic feel - super smooth and soft! The top of it has a beautiful woven pattern and feels very high quality. The fit is perfect - it does not move around under the sheets but is loose enough for you to sink down into the foam of the mattress itself. If you're spending a good deal of money on a mattress, I'd urge you to add this to the purchase for the sake of your investment.
Easy to put on the bed and does not effect the cooling process of the mattress. Also sheets stay on much better with this product.
